Grape Harvest Festival

Grape Harvest Festival

Every year, during the last weekend of September, people celebrate the beginning of the grape harvest in the Neuchâtel region. This festival lasts for three days and the city center is closed to traffic, creating a unique atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. On Friday evening, there is a big night procession of the Guggenmusik, but costumed groups can be found throughout the festival. The children's procession usually takes place on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday afternoon, a flower parade is held, which attracts a large audience. This parade continues the tradition of the harvest float parade, which used to carry the tools of winegrowers after the harvest, and is accompanied by brass bands and humorous groups in costumes.
