Basel Christmas Market
The Basel Christmas Market, located on Barfüsserplatz and Münsterplatz, is celebrated as one of Switzerland's most charming and expansive holiday markets. Set in the heart of the city and surrounded by the beautifully decorated Old Town, this festive market exudes a warm holiday spirit. A grand Christmas tree adorned with ornaments crafted by renowned decorator Johann Wanner adds a magical touch to Münsterplatz.
As you stroll through the market stalls on Münsterplatz, be sure to take a short walk to the Pfalz, where you can sip mulled wine while enjoying breathtaking views of the Rhine and the twinkling city lights.
The market is open daily from November 28 to December 23, 2024, from 11:00 am to 8:30 pm. On December 23, closing times are adjusted, with Barfüsserplatz closing at 8:00 pm and Münsterplatz at 6:00 pm.
