The millet porridge ride from 1576

Experience the newest multimedia installation in the historic city of Zurich, which takes you on a journey back in time to June 20, 1576. On this day, fifty people from Zurich embarked on a journey to Strasbourg with a pot of hot millet porridge to participate in a shooting match. This voyage was a tribute to the first recorded trip from Zurich to Strasbourg, which took place in 1456.

Through the use of multimedia, visitors can board a virtual boat and accompany the group of Zurichers on their journey to Alsace, led by the Weggenzunftmeister and future mayor, Caspar Thomann. As you journey along the Limmat, Aare and Rhine, a helmsman will ask questions that the audience can answer, providing an interactive experience that goes beyond the story of the hot porridge.
