Gurten Festival

The Gurtenfestival, a legendary music festival held every summer, attracts almost 80,000 music enthusiasts from all around the world. Visitors can either take the funicular or hike up to the top of the Gurten mountain, where numerous concerts are spread over three different stages.

The festival features both nationally and internationally famous groups on the main and tent stages, as well as emerging talents from the Swiss music scene on the "Waldbühne" stage. The festival has come a long way since its inception in 1971 as the "Bern-Gurten International Folk Festival". Although the festival has grown significantly over the years, it still maintains its warm and cozy folk festival atmosphere, relaxed ambience, and unique charm.
